Change the world? I can't even sew!

So, I'm back to blogging today. I seem to only blog when I'm up in Ames with Joshua. I'm skipping class today since I only have 1 hour, so that I can be up in Ames with him the whole day. I like knowing that he's near. I'm at the library currently, but will try to hit up Panera for some lunch.

Classes have started back up. I'm trying to stay up on things, but it's hard. Hopefully I get the hang of this. My application should be done for DMU, but I haven't heard from them. I hope they have everything. I may e-mail them later today to make sure they got everything. We're waiting on our paperwork for foster parenting. Hopefully sometime towards the end of January it will be done. It's so hard because you take the 10 weeks of class, and by the end of that you're just ready to start! But, alas they hold you back for a bit more. I'm trying to get everything together before we start getting kids though, so that's fun. I washed all of our sippy cups. I picked up a free baby mattress from a super nice lady that also gave us a free booster chair thing. The only things I need now are: two mattresses, a crib, baby shampoo, kid's toothbrushes, and a car seat that goes all the way up to 100lbs. So, that's exciting. I guess I also need laundry detergent so that I can prewash all of our diapers. I'm getting excited though.

Joshua and I have started working out fairly consistently. We have started watching TV shows so that we have to do that while working out. So far we've watched Chuck and Biggest Loser. The latter is my favorite because it is pretty clean and motivating. I think once I get in the groove of working out, I'll have to try to do the whole eating better thing too. I'm excited and am hoping I'll get in shape.

So, exciting news. Mike talked to Sheri's parents last night and they gave him their blessing, yay! We're so happy for them, and can't wait for their special time of engagement!

So, Joshua and I are trying to undertake a new venture. We want to partner with IJM aftercare centers to help the women there support themselves. We are going to see if they can sew conductive thread onto the tips of gloves so that you can use your iphone with gloves, cool hey? The amazing thing is that you can't use a sewing machine for it, so you have to do it by hand. That may work really well since these people are trying to learn to sew. It may also be a good chance for Joshua and I to raise awareness about injustice in various parts of the world. We're really excited.

Joshua is fasting over lunch today to pray for Clinton, his cousin. The poor guy has been diagnosed with a disease that takes out his hearing and balance. He is an amazing pianist, so this is really tragic for him. I hope I can remember to pray for him a lot today too. I'm not sure about the whole fasting thing. I'm sure one day I'll get it all figured out. :)

Well, for now I should probably get back to studying!
